I'm giddy with excitement over Blog Every Day in May. While I know I will skip a few days, I am already having so much fun planning and writing, and it's only the first day! I hope you'll enjoy the next month of thoughts as much as I do. Let me know in the comments if you're doing the blog challenge, too.

Today's prompt: Story of my life, in 250 words or less.

I made my debut on a September morning
not far from the hollows of Ichabod Crane,
but in the holly-covered suburbs and neatly trimmed lawns
is where I really became.

There were so many laughs and so many songs,
music always drifted in through each moment.
It's no surprise when I think of those days
with the stage as the main component.

Cap thrown in the air, I soon donned pink and gray
and returned to the valley and river.
Those years passed too quick, each leaf and snowfall
bringing the most delightful shiver.

Passport thrown all about, I took a circuitous route home
only to move far away.
But this tale's far from over, and the legend is clear:
this chica is here to stay.
